Here are some gift ideas that your teachers are sure to appreciate:

1. Voting for Pro-Public Education Candidates. Teachers appreciate candles, snacks, and coffee mugs. But an impactful and lasting gift you can give them is voting for pro-public education candidates who will fight for teachers to get better pay and better working conditions. When we invest in teachers, we invest in our students and the future of Texas.

2. Flowers or plants. Flowers are a beautiful way to show your appreciation for teachers, and small potted plants are the gift that keeps growing. Snake plants, ZZ plants, and succulents need little care, take up little space, and can live in teachers’ classrooms for years to come.

3. A rolling bag! Teachers carry so much already. A sturdy bag with wheels will help save their backs when taking supplies in and out of their classrooms. As a bonus, it can also be used to carry important documents into the Texas State Capitol so they can testify about working conditions in Texas schools.

4. Write a letter to your state representative. Teachers in Texas are underpaid, and many take on a second job to make ends meet. Lawmakers have lots of priorities and a limited amount of time during a legislative session. Remind them that teachers are a vital part of our state`s future. To close out your letter, encourage them to give teachers a raise in 2025 during the next legislative session!

5. Gift Cards (with delivery services). Most teachers spend their own money on supplies and materials for their classrooms throughout the year, and those costs add up! Give back to teachers by getting them gift cards to their local HEB and food delivery services for anything they need.

6. Hand-written cards. Teachers know how tight money can be, and showing appreciation doesn’t require a hefty price tag. Hand-written notes are a wonderful way to show teachers support and thank them for their hard work.
